CHILD SAFETY & SAFEGUARDING
Everyone deserves to be safe.
The safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable people is a priority for Dianella Church. We want every person in our community to be able to participate fully, safely, and without fear. That requires ongoing commitment, good systems, and a culture that takes these things seriously.
Dianella Church is committed to:
The safety and wellbeing of every child and young person in our care
A culture of openness, transparency, and accountability
Consistently review our policies and practices to reduce risks of harm
Responding promptly and responsibly to any concern or allegation
Supporting survivors with compassion and appropriate care
What We Do.
All volunteers and staff working regularly with children, young people or vulnerable adults hold current Working With Children Checks as required by Western Australian law. We provide regular safeguarding training for all who work in these roles, as well as a robust recruitment process that includes police checks and reference checks where appropriate.
Our safeguarding practices are overseen by Senior Pastor Vanessa Coleman, who is the first point of contact for any concern or disclosure.
Our Policies.
Raising a Concern.
If you have a concern about the safety of a child or young person, or about the conduct of anyone in our community, please reach out straight away. All concerns are taken seriously and handled with care and confidentiality.
