Pastors and Staff

Xander & Vanessa Coleman

Senior Pastors

Vanessa and Xander are the lead pastors at Dianella Church, passionate about helping people encounter God, share the love of Jesus in practical ways, and see the church come fully alive in the power of the Holy Spirit. Their ministry has spanned urban and rural settings, church planting and established congregations, homelessness and addiction spaces, and youth and children’s work.

Vanessa grew up in the UK; Xander grew up here in Perth and served in UK ministry from 2008. Together they led Salvation Army congregations for 13 years before feeling a strong calling to move to Perth and journey with Dianella Church. They have three sons, Isaac, Asher and Gideon, and love exploring beautiful WA outdoors and spending time with the wider family.

Dianella Church has a beautiful commitment to the local neighbourhood and to living out the love of Jesus here in community. The hunger for spiritual depth, love for each other, and welcome to others is precious to be part of. We particularly love the Seeds kids ministry for our boys!

Ailsa Williams

Board Secretary

About Ailsa
I’m married to Mike (who works part-time for the community centre here), and have two children, two step-children and one delightful granddaughter, Jasmine. Recently qualified as a chaplain, I hope to volunteer in various contexts before applying for jobs in chaplaincy. I retired from a 15 year position in the Department of Education at Christmas.

I’ve loved Jesus all my life, committing my life to Him at the age of nine. I’ve been worshipping at LGD since 2004, and on and off the board since around 2009.

What I bring to the Board
I bring my eye for detail and skills as a proof reader, plus a strong commitment to doing the task in hand.

What I love about Dianella Church
I love the teaching and worship at LGD. The teaching on grace, and focus on LIVING the gospel rather than learning about it – head knowledge only – has revolutionised me personally, and my relationships. I wish I’d learned earlier to navigate life as a Christian with the gospel of grace as the background music.

Scott Puzey

Board Member

About Scott
Scott has been attending Living Grace Dianella since 2017 with his wife Kerry. He has been an active board member and is in his second term of appointment to this role. Scott and Kerry were recently blessed with three step grandies with the engagement of their daughter and together they enjoy camping in their new van.

What I bring to the Board
2025 looks to be a time of opportunity and possible transitions for our church. As we explore these opportunities, I hope to bring support and guidance from my years of leadership to the table.

What I love about Dianella Church
Scott really appreciates the outwards focus of the church, noting the way that our facilities are well utilised within the community. He enjoys the vision for the church as a multitude of opportunities to share in Christ. As Scott is in full time ministry in education he appreciates the teaching and learning on offer.

Dr Michael O’Neil

Board Member

About Michael
I have been in Christian ministry for 40 years as a pastor in several churches, and teacher of Christian Thought and History at Morling College. I am married to Monica and together we have three amazing adult children and seven wonderful grandchildren. I enjoy reading, current affairs, keeping somewhat fit, and holidays. I find relaxing a pretty easy and relaxing activity. 😊 In particular, I love the way reading and studying theology has deepened my faith, broadened my vision, and enriched my life. Fun fact: I sing to myself all day long.

What I love about Living Grace Dianella
Living Grace is a beautiful community. The people there are interesting, thoughtful, funny, and caring. I have been really impressed by the way that they look out for each other and care about others in the wider community. I really like that they are both down-to-earth and spiritually alive.
